Close Enough (Commentary)

This is Big Machine Radio. I am Becca, sitting here with Brett Young as we celebrate the release of his self-titled debut Album. And I love this next song. It's got kind of a cool beat Sort of a funky start to it. Tell me about "Close Enough." Um, so "Close Enough" is a song that I was running late to a song Write with John Knight and Jimmy Robbins, who I wrote "Left Side of Leavin'" with, who, you know, some of my favorite writers, again, in Town. And, uh, I was just running a little bit late, and rather than Wait for me, they went ahead and got started. And they, I walked In, and they just had a beat, and they had the words "Close enough I can't get you close enough" with a melody. And I was like, " That is so catchy. What, what is it?" They're like, "We don't know We were just kind of vibing on that." And I was like, "We're Writing it right now. We have to." And, um, the beat that Jimmy Had started was kind of hip-hoppy, and, uh, again, something that Wasn't on the record yet. So we start writing this thing, and we Notice, like, the natural thing to do is to put the tag "Close Enough" all, kind of all over the record. And if you do that too Much, you run the risk of kind of being annoying and repetitive But for whatever reason, it became kind of like an earworm. And So we've been opening every show with it. It's a pretty fun one Yeah, it is. I, I love this one. So I, I suggest people maybe Crank it up just a bit, especially if you're having a bad day This one will help you out. It is "Close Enough." It's off Brett Young's self-titled debut album, and it's on Big Machine Radio
