I Know You

I know you Saw you in my dreams last night I asked you If you'd like to dance and then you said you might I spotted you from across the room Watched you for a while I was taken by your smile I reached for your hand To help you up from your seat When you stand I find that you're nearly tall as me I try to pull you toward the dance floor But you pull back on me Said "First let's get a drink" So I follow you Across the room into a bar In your eyes All the glory of an Appalachian sunrise Unnatural light Somethin' you just don't see all the time I order a beer and a sidecar I look at you You say "Make it two" We talk a while About a little bit of everything As time goes by I feel you warmin' up to me I call out for another round But you take my hand You say "How 'bout that dance?" Then you lead Me onto the dance floor We danced all night Stoppin' now and then for a drink They turned out the lights It was only then that we leave Then we go to say goodbye I wake up when we kiss A sweet taste on our lips And I say I know you I saw in my dreams last night
